Question 1

How do I analyze a Reddit user for free?

Accepted Answer

Paste a username (u/name) or a Reddit profile link into RedTrace. You get karma, posting heatmaps, sentiment, authenticity signals, and all-time post and comment history — no sign-up and no Reddit API key.

Question 2

What is a Reddit OSINT tool?

Accepted Answer

OSINT means open-source intelligence: research from public data. RedTrace is a Reddit OSINT and analytics app that turns public profiles, subreddits, and threads into reports — history, tone, communities, and bot-likelihood — from open research archives.

Question 3

Can I see deleted Reddit posts and comments?

Accepted Answer

When a post or comment still exists in public research archives, RedTrace can surface it in a user or thread report. Removals and private or quarantined content are not available. Coverage depends on what the archives preserved.

Question 4

How does Reddit sentiment analysis work here?

Accepted Answer

Every sampled post and comment is scored for tone, then rolled up into overall sentiment and month-by-month trends. Use it to see whether an account or community is trending positive, neutral, or negative over time.

Question 5

Do I need a Reddit API key to use RedTrace?

Accepted Answer

No. RedTrace reads public archive data rather than the official Reddit API, so you can run a user analyzer, subreddit report, or thread explorer without OAuth, client IDs, or rate-limit keys.

Question 6

How do I find the best time to post on Reddit?

Accepted Answer

Open any subreddit in RedTrace. Engagement-weighted heatmaps show the weekdays and UTC hours when posts in that community historically perform best, plus quieter windows to avoid.

Question 7

Can RedTrace tell if a Reddit account is a bot?

Accepted Answer

RedTrace estimates bot-likelihood with an authenticity score from public signals: account age, karma health, cadence, sleep patterns, and engagement mix. Every signal is explained. It is a research heuristic, not a verdict.

Question 8

Is RedTrace really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every feature is free: user analysis, subreddit analytics, thread explorer, compare, exports, and share links. A free account only raises the daily fair-use allowance and lets you save reports.
